It was almost always depressing, to sit in her cage at the window in the pet shop. If only because she sees potential families just walk by her. Her siblings at least were kept inside and within a flock. It was starting to be the same old thing over and over again. Seeing families coming in or walking by without really noticing her, only those with little girls seemed to notice her and wanted the 'pretty princess bird'.
It was dull until a man walked by and looked at her, offering a friendly wave of hello. At first she shyly waved back, finding her cheeks blushing bright pink. Her eyes always followed his steps and watches as he walked away. She became excited the day he first tried to adopt her, chirping and cheeping happily and getting herself worked up for him.....
... Only for him to leave the store without her. She could hear the children's excited talk about taking her home in the back of her mind, but the changed their minds as soon as they saw one of her siblings, taking him home instead.
The week felt almost like an eternity and near the end of it, her wings drooped and she couldn't bring herself to sing anymore. Already, she lost two potential families and now was fearing what would happen to her if they couldn't find her a home. She didn't even notice Seiya coming back to try and adopt her again.
The moment he put the collar on around her neck, it became the happiest day of her life when she realized it was him who put it on her and taking her home.
She was in sheer happiness the next few months, living freely in his home, able to fly around if she wanted to and got all the perfect dresses. Her dresses ranging from jumpers to cotton to elegant silk dresses.
She has learned his routine and whenever she senses he was near home, she would fly to it, waiting for him to come back, singing her welcome back greetings to him. She mainly stayed in the gardens, coming in only when it's cold outside or whenever Seiya calls for her.
Today, when she heard Seiya coming home, she wasn't at her usual spot, but in the middle of the garden, wearing a new dress she wanted to surprise him with, sleeping.
She perks up at the sound of his voice, instantly waking up. "Over here Master!" She calls out to him, taking the moment to stretch, the golden name tag attached to her collar, reflecting to help guide Seiya to her. She has been feeling more tired as of late as well as going through nesting urges.
Hopefully Seiya won't be mad at the newest 'nest' built in the middle of the living room.
